General Information

Swiveling hips. Steamy embraces. High-octane tempos. The performances of BURN THE FLOOR are not just hot – they sizzle! This ballroom and Latin dance theatre company is renowned for its gifted dancers, selected from the most prestigious dance competitions around the globe.

Together, they have traveled the world performing and astounding audiences in more than 300 cities in over 29 countries, including the Longacre Theatre on Broadway.

SEEKING:

Male Presenting Vocalists.

Playing age 21-45 years. ALL ETHNICITIES. Heights 5’9 – 6’2.

Tenor. Seeking polished yet edgy pop/rock/jazz vocalists with a large vocal range to seamlessly navigate through musical genres, and a leading man presence. Ability to phonetically learn foreign language lyrics a MUST. Strong quality of movement required. References include Harry Connick Jr., Bruno Mars, and Ricky Martin.

Female Presenting Vocalists.

Playing age 21-45 years. ALL ETHNICITIES. Heights from 5’4 – 5’9.

Mezzo-belter. Seeking polished yet edgy pop/rock singers with a high belt and dynamic personalities. The ability to own the stage with a commanding presence is a must, as is a strong quality of movement. References include Tina Turner, Beyonce, Jlo, and Gloria Estefan.

SYD NORMAN’S POUR HOUSE

General Information

An original musical concept from the original creative team of the Broadway musical “Rock of Ages.” Syd Norman’s Pour House takes us back to rock’s glory days of the late 60s, 70s & 80s in a hangout inspired by LA’s Sunset Strip with an interactive, improv-based experience driven by a rollicking cast & house band. Showcasing a wicked sense of humour and a whole lot of heart, get ready to rock ‘n’ wail!

We are seeking:

Tenor Rock Vocalists

20s-30s years old, all ethnicities. Hip/Authentic Rockers with the ability to give us both smooth and grittier vocals.

Rock Tenor Vocal range: Rock belt up to C5. Higher a plus.

Vocal references include: Lionel Richie, Rod Stewart, Freddie Mercury and David Bowie. Strong improv acting skills, comedic timing, able to work off loose script & audience interaction. Knowledge of old-school hip-hop/rap a very strong plus; must be able to incorporate a few rap lyrics into mashups/medleys. Ability to quickly learn and maintain harmonies a must.

Mezzo Belters

20s-30s years old, all ethnicities. Hip/Authentic Rockers with the ability to give us both smooth and grittier vocals.

Mezzo-Belter Rock Vocalists with a strong belt as well as smokey lower registers.

Vocal references include: Tina Turner, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, and Heart. Strong improv acting skills, comedic timing, able to work off loose script & audience interaction. Knowledge of old-school hip-hop/rap a very strong plus; must be able to incorporate a few rap lyrics into mashups/medleys. Ability to quickly learn and maintain harmonies a must.

Tenor Rock Vocalist AND Guitarist

20s-30s years old, all ethnicities. Hip/Authentic Rock vocalists with the ability to give us both smooth and grittier vocals.

Tenor range: Rock belt up to C5. Higher a plus.

Must also be able to play acoustic & electric guitar at a proficient (lead) level.

Vocal references include Lionel Richie, Rod Stewart, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, and Heart. Strong improv acting skills, comedic timing, able to work off loose script & audience interaction. Knowledge of old-school hip-hop/rap a very strong plus; must be able to incorporate a few rap lyrics into mashups/medleys. Ability to quickly learn and maintain harmonies a must.

SCOPE OF PERFORMANCE: Approximately 8-months onboard contract, plus 2-3 week rehearsal period at rehearsal pay of $560/week, travel and housing included. 5 days on, 2 days off per week, up to 4 hours per performance in venue, plus filming of advertising and events both live and prerecorded. Performances include singing leads, duets & harmonies (parts assigned) plus comedic bits and interactive audience-driven segments in the venue.
